Some of you may agree, you don't really learn anything from school. And personally, I concur. Especially since I work on the side too, school has become a heavy burden whose function only serves to distract. Therefore, I have decided to quit school for one year to focus my energy on design.
At work, I was finally able to sit down and actually think. And I find that ever since I started working, I have not captured our brand's (my company sells stainless steel jewelry) character and style. So I asked my boss what he thought about our brand, and in what appearance he wishes "Deko" to present itself. After some lengthy discussion, we have decided to give "Deko" a killer look, in a personalification way, "Deko" would be an independent and strong character with some badboy type of features...and definitely not some prince-charming kind of positive person. Instead, "Deko" should be more like...say, a mixture of Johnny Depp and Stanley Huang. Anyway, so after a more accurate plan for Deko's image, here are the comparisons between the before and after advertisements:

Before & After:
So now the designs have more of a goal and a concept behind them. In the new series of advertisements, I am planning for a series of destruction themes, with the jewelry positioned as a center of focus. Some people might like it, some might not, but the important thing is, Deko now has a character and a clear targeted group of consumers.
